About this role
Navlyt is the compliance and operations platform for small charter operators. The backend powers everything from compliance task tracking and evidence storage to regulatory change monitoring and audit report generation. We process real data that affects regulatory outcomes for aviation operators — reliability, correctness, and data integrity are non-negotiable.
We are looking for a Backend Engineer who cares deeply about data modeling, API design, and building systems that are boring in the best possible way: predictable, well-tested, and easy to reason about.
What you will do
- Design and implement Supabase Postgres schemas for compliance, document management, CRM, and audit workflows
- Build and maintain REST API endpoints consumed by the React frontend and mobile clients
- Implement row-level security policies that enforce strict multi-tenant data isolation
- Build background jobs and cron pipelines for regulatory monitoring, alert generation, and async document processing
- Design webhook event systems for trip and compliance status updates
- Write database migrations, optimize slow queries, and maintain data integrity across schema changes
- Implement Stripe billing integrations including subscription management, usage metering, and invoice webhooks
What we are looking for
- 3 or more years of backend web development experience
- Strong Postgres SQL skills including query optimization, indexes, and understanding of execution plans
- Experience with TypeScript and Node.js-based backend frameworks
- Familiarity with multi-tenant SaaS architecture patterns
- Understanding of authentication systems and session management
Nice to have
- Experience with Supabase platform (RLS, Edge Functions, Realtime)
- Experience designing compliance, audit, or legal record-keeping systems
- Background in regulated industries (aviation, healthcare, legal tech, fintech)
- Experience with Stripe billing APIs
