About this role
Navlyt's compliance platform is only as good as the regulatory content behind it. Every FAA 14 CFR Part 135 requirement, every EASA Part-ORO obligation, every Transport Canada CARs provision — these need to be accurately modeled, correctly applied to the right operator types, and kept current as regulations evolve.
This role is for a current or former aviation professional — a Director of Operations, Chief Pilot, aviation compliance consultant, or former FAA/CAA inspector — who wants to apply their domain expertise to building software rather than operating an airline.
What you will do
- Own the Navlyt regulatory requirement database: curate, validate, and maintain all FAA Part 135, Transport Canada Part 703/704, and EASA AOC requirements
- Define requirement applicability rules: which requirements apply to which operator types, aircraft categories, and operational scopes
- Review and validate AI-generated regulatory change classifications before they are published to operators
- Answer regulatory questions from the product and engineering team to ensure features are built correctly
- Produce plain-English requirement descriptions and evidence guidance that operators can actually understand
- Test new compliance features against real operational scenarios before release
- Serve as the regulatory SME in customer conversations for complex compliance questions
- Monitor FAA, TC, and EASA regulatory publications and flag changes that require database updates
What we are looking for
- Active or recent Part 135 Director of Operations, Chief Pilot, or equivalent operations leadership credential
- Deep familiarity with FAA 14 CFR Part 135 regulatory requirements
- Experience preparing for and managing FSDO or CAA surveillance inspections
- Strong written communication — you will write requirement descriptions read by hundreds of operators
- Comfort working in software tools and learning new platforms quickly
Nice to have
- FAA Certified Check Airman designation
- Familiarity with EASA Part-ORO or Transport Canada CARs Part 703/704
- Previous work as an aviation compliance consultant or inspector
- Experience with aviation compliance software (CAMP, Veryon, Leon, etc.)
